ARCHAEOLOGY OF THE ANCIENT WORLD

Beryl Hellinghausen

ACADEMICS | WEEK ONE

Description

Come along on an Indian Jones style adventure as we explore ancient worlds through the lens of archaeology. We will discuss the mummies found in the Great Pyramids of Egypt, make pottery in the style of the Southwest Pueblo peoples, understand how the Greeks built the Parthenon, design a Viking shield, and listen to battle stories from the Warring States of China. This week long class will also dive into how archaeologists uncover lost cultures and piece together historic events. Archaeology is meant to be interactive, and we will be too! Participating in activities that range from excavation and art to games and artifact identification, this class will be a fun hands-on way to discover history.
